  • Why did you apply to work for us?

    boohoo was one of my clients in my last role and every time I visited the office, I felt inspired by the success of the company and how much they were growing. I wanted to work in an in-house recruitment role for a brand I felt was relatable to me, which boohoo definitely is.


  • What’s the best thing about working for us?

    The opportunities you can get at boohoo are endless. In the two years that I’ve been in the company, I have been able to gain exposure in so many areas and work with different key stakeholders across the board. I feel really proud to work here, the business is constantly growing and everyone’s role here is part of that success, I love being a part of it. 

  • How would you describe the culture?

    It is fun culture but super hard-working. We have that ‘work hard, play hard’ ethos here. I’ve never worked for a company with more hard-working people but we also celebrate the success of the company at any opportunity that we can.

  • What do you get up to in your role? What makes it different compared with other similar roles you’ve had?

    I manage the recruitment for Buying, Merchandising, Design and e-commerce roles for the Manchester based brands- boohoo, boohooMAN, Misspap and NastyGal. I essentially source for people to fill those roles in the business using a variety of methods such as LinkedIn, our careers website applicants, or even through referrals. I work with Directors or Heads of in these departments in order to attract the right talent and also coach them on recruitment best practice and keep them updated on the candidate market within the fashion industry. I previously worked for an agency where I was recruiting on behalf of many different fashion brands and suppliers within buying & merchandising so it’s great to work in-house for one brand and bring people into the business and then see them develop in the Group.

  • How has your career developed since you’ve worked here?

    When I first started I was in a team of two and now we have a team of nine of us, so although my role hasn’t changed, the team has. It’s been great to have more people in the team as we’ve been able to establish ourselves as a strong Talent Acquisition team across the business and I truly feel we’ve impacted the business in a really positive way. In terms of my career, I’ve been able to build more knowledge of the brand since working internally and I’m at a stage where I feel like I’m an expert in the world of fashion recruitment.

  • What’s been your biggest achievement/proudest moment so far?

    My proudest moment for me has to be being able to present to hundreds of students across the UK on opportunities at the boohoo group. It’s great being a brand ambassador at boohoo and I am so passionate about the industry so it’s great to hear that people have been inspired by talks that I’ve done, and I’ve been able to educate people about the brand as well as the industry about all the roles in Fashion that they can strive towards. Our intern reach last year in 2021 was the highest it’s ever been for the Group and we were inundated with applications to work for the business on the back of my talks. I was praised by key stakeholders and directors in the business as boohoo was praised on social platforms in a really positive way during a time where Covid-19 was impacting the world in a negative way. I hope to keep being able to educate more people interested in the brand and industry with more talks in the future.

  • What makes someone successful here?

    I think you must be ambitious and driven to succeed at boohoo! It’s about going above and beyond in your role and making yourself known in the Group.

  • What do you think makes us unique as an employer?

    We have acquired so many leading brands and it’s great to be able to offer people progression opportunities for different brands in the Group whilst still staying in the family which not many other fashion retailers or competitors can offer.
