“What makes PrettyLittleThing unique is the amount and variety of projects which I have exposure to.”

Why did you apply to work for us?
I was looking for a role which would challenge me and put me outside of my comfort zone and by doing so, would build me up professionally. As a person who works hard to play hard, it made sense to apply to work for a company that pursues its goals with the same passion and determination.

What’s the best thing about working for us?
If you work for PLT then you will inevitably work with some of the best professionals in their field and you’ll be given plenty of responsibility. As a fast-growing brand, there are a number of opportunities for growth. This sense of mutual growth is what makes the job so much more exciting and diverse.
-
How would you describe the culture?
When someone joins PLT, they don’t just join a company, they join a family and a team that loves working (and partying) together. Communication is at the core of the business and is what maintains the open, honest, and friendly environment. Working for PLT doesn’t just mean you get to go to a great office, it also means you are part of a well established and extremely unique brand.
-
What do you get up to in your role? What makes it different compared with other similar roles you’ve had?
As a Business Analyst and Product Owner of an Agile team, some of my responsibilities involve prioritising projects based on value, working with stakeholders to scope and elicit requirements and break down the project into epics and user stories. Following the SCRUM ceremonies, I work closely with the development teams to ensure the deliverables match the requirements and there are adequate release plans in place to migrate to the new solution.
What makes PLT unique is the amount and variety of projects which I have exposure to. Since I joined a year ago, I have been lucky enough to be part of both front-end website projects and more technical warehouse and middleware projects. PLT gives you the freedom to follow your passion and work on what you love the most. No project is the same, I have been exposed to massive multi-million group wide waterfall projects as well as high impact frontend Agile projects.
-
How has your career developed since you’ve worked here?
Since I joined, the value of my responsibilities has been progressively increasing. The company provides great professional and personal development opportunities, from training of your choice to gym classes, it’s all there for you to use. I needed a place which would test my limits and expose me to a wide variety of experience. PLT is just that place. With frequent reviews and support from your Manager, you are constantly being given the chance to upskill and try something new.
-
What’s been your biggest achievement/proudest moment so far?
As a technical Business Analyst for the middleware team, I have scoped and delivered several projects which have brought many improvements across the operational side of the business. My biggest achievement to date is to be the middleware product owner for a group-wide warehouse automation project aiming to drastically increase the capacity of our warehouse and change the way we process and ship products and orders. This project is by far the largest I have been part of and has massively developed my core Business Analyst and management skills.
-
What makes someone successful here?
PLT values diversity and each member of our team brings something different to the table. With this being said some of the traits which would be helpful to anyone joining PLT is good self-management, being a fast learner and having some exposure or general knowledge of Agile methodologies and ways of working. Having the right attitude and personality is a must. PLT is a vibrant and fast-paced business so it is important that your personality matches.

What do you think makes us unique as an employer?
The great culture and the benefits which the company provides, from flexible working to its great discounts, bonus and share schemes. Not to mention the cute little gifts which the company posts to us every now and again as appreciation for the job well done. This has definitely made a difference during lockdown.
