Meet Sophie, Merchandise Admin Assistant at Wallis

Why did you apply to work for us?

I was lucky enough to be bought over from another company to boohoo and I am so glad I did. I had always been interested in working for the brand, due to its success, and it always appeared like a great place to work.

What’s the best thing about working for us?

I love the work-hard play-hard attitude at boohoo, the company throw monthly events for the staff along with treating us to other extras to keep us all going throughout the week which definitely keeps morale up.

How would you describe the culture?

boohoo has a great culture among peers, I feel that everyone is so friendly and even across the brands I find everyone to be really helpful when working together.

What do you get up to in your role?

Most days there is a new task for me to do which is great to mix up your working week. I mainly work with the suppliers and buyers to help with order maintenance and sending purchase orders. As well as this, I help with weekly reports for my colleagues as well as any other ad-hoc jobs that often arise in Merchandising.

How has your career developed since you’ve worked here? E.g. development opportunities, role changes?

I think there are great progression opportunities across the brands and across all levels. Management actually do push and support your development and help you progress within your teams.

What’s been your biggest achievement/proudest moment so far?

My biggest achievement so far would be learning all of the systems and procedures from scratch and then using that to train our new colleagues.

What makes someone successful here?

I think being able to adapt to different situations quickly is key to being successful at boohoo as it is such a fast-changing company.

What do you think makes us unique as an employer?

I think boohoo are unique in the benefits they provide to us as employees - even small things like giving out treats when staff are doing a challenging task to show they are appreciated and keep everyone going.
