THE ROLE
As the Boohoo Group continues to transform; we are looking for a Group Head of Financial Accounting (Group Financial Controller) to join our senior leadership team and drive financial excellence across the business.

As the Group Head of Financial Accounting, you will be the backbone of our finance function. Leading a team of c25 with 6 direct reports, you will ensure robust financial controls, compliance, and reporting across the group. Operating as a Financial Controller, you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of our financial accounts, optimising processes, and providing key financial insights to support strategic decision-making.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Lead the financial accounting function across the group, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, balance sheet reconciliations, and statutory accounts.
  • Manage cash flow, forecasting, and working capital to support the business’s transformation plans.
  • Implement and enhance financial controls, policies, and compliance procedures.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Drive process improvements and automation within the finance function to enhance efficiency.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and development to the finance team.
  • Support the Group FD and CFO in financial strategy, budgeting, and forecasting.

WHAT WE NEED

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with significant post-qualification experience.
  • Strong technical accounting expertise with experience in a fast-paced retail, fashion, or e-commerce environment.
  • Change and transformation experience
  • Proven track record in financial control, group reporting, and compliance.
  • Ability to lead and develop a high-performing finance team.
  • Experience with financial systems, ERP implementations, and automation.
  • Strong analytical skills with a commercial mindset and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
