You know all about our high street roots and bricks and mortar stores. Now, we're looking to the future. Since 2021, we've embraced some changes. Debenhams hasn’t made a comeback—we’ve been here since 1778, evolving and adapting to the times. This is Debenhams today - Britain’s Leading Online Department Store.
We are more than a department store—we are an institution. From creating the blueprint for designer collaborations with Designers at Debenhams, to launching countless brands and inventing the beauty counter, we’ve consistently shaped the retail landscape.
We don’t underestimate the power of our brand or the place we hold in people’s hearts. This is only the beginning of the next chapter for Debenhams.
Britain needs Debenhams.....Debenhams needs you!
YOUR ROLE AND TEAM
We live and breathe data, trends and fashion. The Debenhams Merchandising team ensure that we have the right products, at the right time, in the right place and in the right quantities. They work closely with the buying teams to plan and build the ranges taking control of stock levels to maximise profit.
We have an incredible opportunity for an experienced Assistant Merchandiser to be part of the team who have fun but work hard to deliver relevant data to ensure the sales are optimised for the department. We are looking for someone with previous experience working within Merchandising, ideally as a Merchandising Admin Assistant or Assistant Merchandiser for a similar retail business.

Based in our London, Soho office, you’ll be in the heart of a buzzing fashion focussed environment, with the opportunity to work with various teams across the business.
You’ll be using data to optimise the sales volume and profitability of your product areas, supporting planning of budgets by category, option count, and depth of buy, based on the overall business and financial goals of the company. You will control stock levels based on weekly sales and stock intakes (using the WSSI) whilst working alongside Supply Chain and Planning team to ensure stock is bought into the business with consideration to business need and capacity.
Bringing all this together you will manage and own a category, including ownership in weekly trade meetings.
