• Why did you apply to work for us?

  An ex-colleague got a job with boohoo and was raving about how much fun and fast paced it was. An opportunity came up in finance and I contacted him straight away (I was e-stalking the career website).

• What’s the best thing about working for us?

  The people! I have never worked somewhere where the people are so nice, friendly, and approachable. It is also not hierarchical at all. The senior guys are down to earth.

• How would you describe the culture?

  Friendly, fast paced, hardworking, collaborative.

• What do you get up to in your role? What makes it different compared with other similar roles you’ve had?

  I basically talk anything finance with IT, HR and e-commerce. I am their contact for anything finance related. 

  I make sure that decisions made are aligned to the boohoo strategy.

• How has your career developed since you’ve worked here?

  I’ve only been here six weeks, but my observation is that there is scope to grow. A few people in the finance teams have been promoted recently which is great to see as a new starter because it shows if I work hard there will be opportunities for me to grow.

• What’s been your biggest achievement/proudest moment so far?

  Again, only six weeks in, but on my very first day I got given a contract proposal to review and make a recommendation on whether to accept or not. 

  It took me a while to get my head around it, but I was given the space I needed, and the team were so friendly and helpful and didn’t make me feel like I asked any stupid questions (even though I did).

• What makes someone successful here?

  Being a hard worker and being proactive.

• What do you think makes us unique as an employer?

  The culture. The friendly down to earth, non-hierarchical culture makes boohoo unique. It’s a very fun place to work.
