  • Why did you apply to work for us?

    I applied to work at PLT after coming from a more corporate business – I love how fast-paced the business seemed and how I could make a difference straight away, instead of waiting for the following season. The perks and staff appreciation are some of the best in the business, so who doesn’t want to work here!

  • What do you get up to in your role?

    The question should be what don’t do in my role! The main things I do is trade the sales and stock performance of my category to generate profit for the business and ensure we have the right stock in the right place at the right time. There is loads of analysis within my role that I love finding out the nitty gritty of why something has or hasn’t worked.

  • What’s the best thing about working for us?

    The perks! Staff parties, treats we receive when we are working from home, free lunches in the office! But not to forget the people at PLT! Everyone is so friendly and down-to-earth.

  • How would you describe the culture?

    Transparent, motivating and nurturing.

  • How did you find the application and interview process?

    I found the application straightforward and the recruitment team got in touch with me a few hours after I applied. The interview process was split into two – one with my current Manager and then meeting the senior team! Both interviews were relaxed and everyone was super friendly!

  • What advice would you give to applicants looking to apply?

    Do your research on the business – it really is a great place to work with amazing benefits, but we work at such a fast-pace to keep up with demand and be the best! So be prepared.

  • What advice would you give to applicants preparing for interview/Assessment Centre?

    Explore the website and understand our customer profile. Be prepared to talk about your past work experience and have scenarios at hand to talk about. Lastly, be yourself! Let your personality shine through.

  • Have you been offered any training, networking, workshops etc?

    I started a Level four Apprenticeship at my old workplace and continued it at PLT. My Line Manager and HR were super supportive and I passed with a distinction! We do loads of on-the-job training and our Learning and Development team have adapted workshops so we can do these remotely whilst working from home.
     

  • What’s been your biggest achievement/proudest moment so far?

    Getting a Distinction in my Apprenticeship.

  • What makes someone successful here?

    PLT is such a fast-paced business so definitely someone who will be able to spin a few plates. A positive attitude and a willingness to get stuck in with your team. The opportunities are endless for the right people.
