“We’re encouraged to speak up, make recommendations and get involved in bigger business ideas.”
-
Why did you apply to work for us?
I was initially approached to join PLT back in the very early days when I was working for a competitor. At the time, PLT had only just begun to make some noise and the chance to be part of a journey with a brand who had big plans and big ambitions was too good of an opportunity to miss out on. And 9 years later, I guess they say, the rest is history!
-
What’s the best thing about working for us?
The opportunities! It doesn’t matter what level you’re at within the business, we give everyone just as much opportunity and a voice to be heard. We’re encouraged to speak up, make recommendations and get involved in bigger business ideas which I believe is part of the success of PLT.
-
How would you describe the culture?
Family! No matter how big we’ve got in terms of the number of people that now work here, we’ve not lost that family environment, teams are incredibly close and there’s a sense of having each other’s back.
-
What do you get up to in your role?
No day is ever the same. I work across all markets and work with all our teams based in UK, USA, Canada, Australia, France and Middle East, this involves a lot of different time zones! I predominantly oversee our Influencer Strategy which includes who we work with, budgets, campaign support, activations, and events. Everyone thinks it’s very glamourous, which at times there is an element of this, but there’s a lot more to it behind the scenes to bring things together, and at times living out of a suitcase and working around the clock.
-
How has your career developed since you’ve worked here?
My career has developed enormously, from starting out and going from a team of four to now 75. During my time here, I’ve been able to get involved in areas from helping to choose face of campaigns, taking meetings with Kardashians, developing recruitment skills and building out teams and traveling around the world. As I’ve progressed and now manage a team, I spend a lot of time developing team members, organising workloads and structuring areas of focus and in turn there’s a lot of support from our talent team to build confidence in managing people and building your management style.
-
What’s been your biggest achievement/proudest moment so far?
One of my proudest moments is having such involvement in our USA expansion and at one time more or less living between the UK and USA in order for us to set up our office in LA and build out our team over there. It was an amazing opportunity to be able to get a greater understanding of the market and also experience traveling. I’m always also incredibly proud of all the events that we work on and pull together, it takes us all to bring them together.
