“Every day is fast-paced and hard work, but along the way we get to have fun.”

  • Why did you apply to work for us?

I was previously an intern at boohoo while I was at university. Although, I was on the design team during this period. When graduated I changed my career pathway to be technical, I knew I would like to return to boohoo one day. For me it is the family atmosphere, which makes the environment so friendly and fun. The people that work here make every day enjoyable and encourage personal growth, which is a great environment to kick-start my career in.

  • What’s the best thing about working for us?

For me, it is all about the opportunities that are offered to us, as well as the support we get along the way from all of our team and the other teams we get to work alongside.

  • How would you describe the culture?

For me, I would say the culture here is ‘work hard play hard’. Every day at the boohoo group is fast-paced and hard work, but along the way we get to have fun. Whether it is competitions remotely on the boohoo radio or parties in the office there is something to look forward to or always something coming our way to celebrate the hard work we put in!

  • What do you get up to in your role?

Day to day I work alongside the buying team to fit garments which arrive from suppliers. The aim is to improve the fit and quality to ensure this is the standard of what the customer would expect to receive in the post! Work is fast-paced, keeping me on the ball at all times. We run additional tasks throughout the year to help improve the quality of all garments, working alongside the QA team across the whole boohoo brand and the suppliers.

  • How has your career developed since you’ve worked here?

Since joining the boohoo group in July 2020 there have been many opportunities offered to me, along with changes within my day-to-day role. One key opportunity that springs to mind was my move over to Pretty Little Thing from boohoo; this move has really pushed me in my career and knowledge, which helped me to progress from Junior Garment Technologist to Entry Level Technologist!

  • What’s been your biggest achievement/proudest moment so far?

Running the sustainability workshop during Sustainability Week has been a proud moment for me. Stepping outside my comfort zone and presenting ‘how to guides’ to a fully booked workshop of colleagues from all departments across the business.

As well as this since joining in July 2020 I have received a promotion, which has been incredible step in my career.

  • What makes someone successful here?

Hard work, dedication and a positive attitude are key. I truly believe if you are a hard worker in this business, you will stand out!

  • What do you think makes us unique as an employer?

The opportunity to work across the multiple brands. As well as the speed in which you are able to progress in your role, or within other internal vacancies.

  • Describe working here in 3 words.

    Collaborative. Social. Fast-paced.
