“I love how accessible our Leadership team is, everyone feels equally valued and important to the business.”

  • Why did you apply to work for us?

I loved the idea of working for a homegrown company that originated in Manchester. The variety of brands really appealed to me too, there’s such diversity within our portfolio I knew the job would give me the excitement I crave from a role.

I was also always so impressed by all the charity activity I had seen the brands get involved with across Greater Manchester so I knew my values would align.

  • What’s the best thing about working for us?

Getting to work with such positive people every day who really do get things done. I love how accessible our Leadership team is too, everyone feels equally valued and important to the business. At boohoo there really feels like there’s no hierarchy which just really helps get things done.

  • How would you describe the culture?

It’s a friendly, fun and hardworking culture where everyone has the opportunity to achieve and progress. Every day feels inspiring when you work with people with fresh ideas who really get their customers.

  • What do you get up to in your role? What makes it different compared with other similar roles you’ve had?

My role is all about helping people to bring their best to work. On a typical day I’m coaching managers to be inspiring leaders, delivering a webinar or setting up one of our early careers programs to help kickstart people’s career in fashion. Talent and Development has changed so much over the last 10 years – classroom training is a thing of the past and there’s been a huge move towards tech and personalisation in our industry which makes things so exciting.

  • How has your career developed since you’ve worked here?

I had the opportunity build a brand-new Learning and Development function at PrettyLittleThing which was one of my ultimate career ambitions. In the past year I was given the opportunity to cover a Head of HR role. I was given so much support and encouragement it felt like the dream learning opportunity for me.

I’m now on my third role in the business which feels like perfect timing for the next part of my journey here at the Group.

  • What makes someone successful here?

Someone who’s happy to really get stuck in and work outside their comfort zone. People who thrive here know how to listen, empathise and pull together when the moment requires true teamwork.

  • What do you think makes us unique as an employer?

How grounded the Leadership teams are and our lack of red tape, we love the new and the next.

  • Describe working here in 3 words.

    Fun, stimulating and energising.
