“I have always wanted to work for the boohoo group, purely due to their strong reputation in the industry.”

  • Why did you apply to work for us?

I have always wanted to work for the boohoo group, purely due to their strong reputation in the industry – it really felt like the best possible place to start my career, straight out of university. I had heard it was a great place to learn and develop my skills, which assured me it would be the best place for me.

  • What do you get up to in your role? What makes it different compared with other similar roles you’ve had?

As a Brand Executive for Misspap, my role involves helping manage influencer and PR activity across the brand. This means deciding which influencers to work with on a monthly basis, helping to build collections/edits, organising events and ensuring this all fits into Misspap’s brand identity and monthly budget.

  • What’s the best thing about working for us?

The best part about working for the boohoo group is definitely being able to mix with so many different brands within the group and having an understanding of everyone's individual roles - this can really help you to grow and develop throughout the company. The group really is like a family which works collectively, towards a bigger picture - which is really lovely and motivating.

  • How would you describe the culture?

There is a very passionate culture, due to people really enjoying their jobs. As mentioned, everyone is working towards a similar goal, meaning that there is a general theme of support around the office.

  • How has your career developed since you’ve worked here?

I originally started at Misspap as an assistant (on a 3-month based contract) however, my contract was extended twice before finally being offered a long-term contract as an Influencer Assistant. Since then, I have been promoted to Brand Executive, meaning I work on a wider scale within Misspap. This has definitely allowed me to develop through more responsibility and involvement in different areas.

  • Have you been offered any training, networking, workshops etc?

Networking is definitely something the boohoo group do really well. Especially with the new boohoo group London Showroom, you are constantly interacting with people from the different brands, all in completely diverse roles. This can really be a great way of learning more about the industry you are in. I am also currently discussing internal training for PR.

  • What’s been your biggest achievement/proudest moment so far?

On the whole, being promoted to Brand Executive was a great achievement. However, every edit / collection and event I organise is really a proud moment as I am able to see the value in all the hard work that I put into my day-to-day jobs.

  • What makes someone successful here?

I think to be successful within the boohoo group you really need to have a fairly strong voice and always be open to sharing your thoughts and opinions – even if it isn't an area in which you are particularly familiar. This is the best way to learn and develop.

  • What do you think makes us unique as an employer?

I think there is a really great mixture of professionalism and also feeling comfortable enough to share your thoughts / concerns at any point with your managers and superiors in general - it really makes you feel at ease whilst working here.

  • Describe working here in 3 words.

    Exciting, motivating, fast-paced.

  • Why should top talent join us instead of a competitor?

The opportunities at the boohoo group are endless, it really is the best place to start your career and build up your relationships with some incredibly talented individuals. It has the opportunity to set you up for the rest of your career, whatever that may be.
